26k on a new Schimmel 189 is probably not a realistic price. In my market, I was seeing discounts in the 25-30% range. According to the Piano Buyer, you should expect 10-30% off the "SMP" price on any of these pianos. Also keep in mind these pianos will be different from one to the next - for example, the Estonia 190 I played this time was far brighter than the previous one I tried a couple years before. ![]() They have different tone qualities, and the Bechstein uses a different action supplier.Īt this level of instrument, it really becomes a matter of personal preference I would have a good level of confidence in each piano. ![]() They were all nice sounding and feeling instruments that I would have been happy to have. During a recent piano search for a friend, I had a chance to play a new Schimmel K189, Bechstein A190, and Estonia L190 the same day.
